Data people for your dashboards, warehouse and models.
sourceBOLD finds mid-level and senior data analysts, data engineers, data scientists and ML engineers across the Americas for US teams, and engages them month to month as their contractor of record. Typical starting prices are from $2,500 a month at mid-level and from $3,500 at senior, depending on the role.
| Role | Mid-level | Senior |
|---|---|---|
| Data or BI analyst | from $2,500 | from $3,500 |
| Data or analytics engineer | from $3,750 | from $5,250 |
| Data scientist | from $3,750 | from $5,500 |
| ML engineer | from $4,000 | from $6,000 |
Scarce platforms, leadership of other people, and certifications you require all price higher. Junior roles are quoted on request.
What they do, and a first piece of work.
Data or BI analyst
Turns questions from the business into reports and dashboards, in SQL and a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker, and writes down what each metric means.
A first deliverableOne KPI dashboard rebuilt and reconciled to the source data, with a written definition of every metric on it.
Data or analytics engineer
Builds and runs the pipelines that bring data into your warehouse, and the models on top of it, so reports and analysis work from one trusted source.
A first deliverableOne data source loaded into your warehouse on a schedule, with tests and documentation.
Data scientist
Answers questions that need statistics: forecasts, experiments, segmentation, and the analysis behind a decision.
A first deliverableAn analysis of one business question, with the method, the result and its limits written up.
ML engineer
Puts machine-learning models into production and keeps them working: training pipelines, serving and monitoring.
A first deliverableOne model moved from a notebook into a scheduled pipeline, with monitoring on its inputs and outputs.
First deliverables are examples. You set the deliverables and deadlines in your SOW.
Mid-level or senior
Delivers reliably when someone senior on your team, or a clear product lead, sets direction and reviews the work.
Has owned this kind of work alone at a company like yours. Sets direction and makes the calls without anyone reviewing their work.
Screened for your role, then met by us.
Every applicant answers questions about their skills, experience and how they like to work, and is ranked against your role. Only the applicants who come through screening move on to our review.
We meet every candidate before you do and check their English, so you know they can hold their own in your meetings and written threads. We also confirm their experience is what they say it is.
We call their references and review their code, so you aren’t taking their résumé on trust.
Then you interview, and the choice is always yours. The full process is in how we vet candidates.
Access you give, and can take back.
- You give them access to the systems, accounts and information the work needs, and you can remove it. They bring their own computer and software; a device or license you issue stays yours and is returned or shut off when the engagement ends (SOW §2).
- You do not give a contractor health information, payment-card data or other regulated personal data unless we have first agreed in writing how it will be handled. We sign a data processing addendum where the law requires one (MSA §8).
- We never permit access from a country under comprehensive U.S. sanctions, or from one the U.S. Department of Justice lists as a country of concern for sensitive personal data (MSA §8).
- We tell you within 72 hours of confirming any unauthorized access to your confidential information (MSA §8).
Your team, our contract.
You work with them directly on the deliverables and deadlines in your SOW. They are independent contractors of sourceBOLD, not your employees: we hold their contract and handle their payments, tax documents and expense reimbursements. Each person has a monthly Service Fee, invoiced on the 15th for the following month and paid by ACH (MSA §1, §2).
Tell us in writing with specifics, and we require the contractor to correct the work at no extra charge. If they refuse, or it is not corrected within ten business days, you can end that SOW. If a contractor stops working, the SOW ends on their last day and we refund the rest of that month, prorated by calendar day. If they materially breach your security or confidentiality requirements, act dishonestly or act unlawfully, you can have them removed at once. In each case we propose a replacement for you to approve (MSA §1, §6).
Questions buyers ask, answered.
Scale your team.
Surge ahead.
One intro call, no sales pitch. Pre-vetted finalists, not a stack of résumés. First standup in weeks, not months.
